Astralis maul FaZe in 16

Astralis have joined 100 Thieves in the grand final of IEM Beijing after running over FaZe in a quick 2-0 affair (Dust2 16-0, Nuke 16-2).
It was a tough day for FaZe, who were looking to add on to their title run last week at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen but this time found themselves on the opposite side of a whitewash up against Astralis over the course of the entire series, after the Danes had suffered a similar beatdown on Inferno at their home event at the hands of the European side.
On this occasion, it was Dust2 that left FaZe with absolutely no answers, a map where Marcelo "coldzera" David and Janko "YNk" Paunović had received the 16-0 treatment by Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander's team once before when they represented MIBR together last year.

Astralis had to fight for early control on the opening map after a pistol round went their way, as a big commotion on long saw them narrowly escape with a 3-0 lead, but from there on their double AWP setup starring Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen at middle and Nicolai "device" Reedtz on A had FaZe unable to find entry into either bombsite.
As the first half quickly ran away from Nikola "NiKo" Kovač's team, "when in doubt, rush B" didn't work either in the 12th round and it was only a matter of whether FaZe would indeed be able to avoid the 16-0. They wouldn't, despite two consecutive 2v1 situations at the very end, inked by Emil "Magisk" Reif in the 15th round and device in the second pistol.
The streak continued on Nuke as FaZe couldn't retake the upper bombsite in time to defuse and stopped at 19 in a row, with the European side locking down their first round in the series with a confident defense in the first full buy. But the beating restarted immediately, with Astralis finding gaps all over the map to commence another huge run, this time worthy of 10 rounds as the Danish team only conceded the last in the half for a 13-2 scoreline. A pistol round win and a 1v2 clutch from gla1ve later, FaZe were left wondering about what had just happened when their opponents got up to celebrate a spot in the grand final at 16-2, 2-0.
